Applying as a Transfer Student

Assumption College welcomes and encourages your application for undergraduate admission.

  • All required documents for admission in the fall semester must be submitted before July 1.
  • All required documents for admission in the spring semester must be submitted before December 15.

A complete transfer application includes the following:

  • Common Application
  • A personal statement about your college education and why attending Assumption College will be of value to you (part of the Common Application)
  • Official college transcripts with at least 12 credits of coursework completed (24 is preferable) and a GPA of 2.5 or better
  • College Official's Report. Use our form.
  • Official high school transcript or official General Education Development (GED) Test.
  • TOEFL scores if English is not your primary language. Assumption College’s TOEFL Code is: 3009
  • Letter of recommendation from a professor at the last college attended. (Available through the Common Application)
  • Application fee of $50 payable through the Common Application
  • A current college progress report if required. Use our form.
  • Catalog Web site address from each college attended


Application Reactivation

Assumption College welcomes Transfer applications from students who have previously applied. If you have applied to Assumption within the last two years, you may re-activate your original application.

If you are reactivating your application, you do not need to pay a second application fee. Send a brief note or email (admiss@assumption.edu) stating that you would like to reactivate your application and indicate which semester. You will need to submit the following:

  • Official college transcripts from all colleges attended and current progress report, if needed
  • Official final high school transcript
  • Catalog or catalog website from all colleges attended
  • A personal statement about your college education and why attending Assumption College will be of value to you
  • College Official's Report. Use our form.

 

Test Scores

Submission of standardized test scores (SAT-1 or ACT) is optional and applicants who choose not to submit SAT or ACT test scores will not be penalized in the review for admission.  If English is your second language, TOEFL scores are required.  Students who want to submit their test scores should use the following codes:

  • Assumption's SAT-I code is 3009
  • Assumption's ACT code is 1782
  • If English is your second language, send TOEFL scores : Assumption’s code is 3009.
