Director of Intramural and Club Sports
Eric is entering his first year at Assumption College. He received his Masters of Science degree in the spring of 2012 from Salisbury University. During his graduate work in Applied Health Physiology, Eric served as a Graduate Assistant in the Campus Recreation Department overseeing Facility Management, Sport Clubs and Intramurals. In addition, Eric received his Bachelors degree from the University of Rhode Island in Kinesiology. Notably, Eric holds the CPR/First Aid/AED Instructor certification and is a certified IAABO High School Basketball Official in which he has refereed games in Massachusetts, Vermont and Maryland. Finally, Eric is a tremendously engaged member of the National Intramural-Recreational Sports Association (NIRSA) in which he has served on countless work-teams, served as a clinician for multiple basketball and flag football regionals and held the 2011-2012 Region I Student Leader position.
Assistant Director of Athletics and Recreation
Brian Lang begins his second season as the assistant director of athletics for recreation in 2014-2015. Lang was named to the position on October 22, 2013.
Lang came to Assumption College from the University of Chicago, where he served as the facility manager for the Department of Physical Education and Athletics since July 2012. At the University of Chicago, he oversaw two indoor athletic and recreational facilities, a turf football/soccer field, a natural grass field for baseball, softball and soccer, eight tennis courts and a 400-meter track. He also oversaw a number of facilities projects and upgrades as well, including the purchase and installation of a new football/track scoreboard and other substantial projects over the last year.
Prior to Chicago, Lang worked as an events and operations intern at Harvard University in Cambridge, Mass. In 2011-2012, where he served as an event manager for the Crimson for field hockey, men’s and women’s volleyball, men’s and women’ basketball, women’s lacrosse and baseball. He also worked as the site manager for a number of special events held at Harvard and was responsible for a contest management budget of over $300,000 for the University’s 40 intercollegiate varsity sports, excluding football.
His other experience includes a graduate assistantship as the Coordinator of Marketing and Events at the United States College Athletic Association (USCAA) and an undergraduate intern at Mount Aloysuis College in Cresson, PA.
A 2010 graduate of Slippery Rock University, Lang graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in sport management. He then went on to earn his Masters of Science degree in physical education from Old Dominion University, with a concentration in sport management.
Becky joined the Campus Recreation Department as the Administrative Assistant in November 2010. As a former Payroll and Accounts Payable Coordinator, Becky brings organizational skills and customer service experience from her career at Sunbridge Hammond House. Becky resides with her husband, Leo, and three children, Noah, Bella and Lilly. During her free time, Becky enjoys spending time outdoors, swimming, canoeing or working in the yard.
Cheryl is a graduate of Assumption in 1994 with a degree in English & Psychology. Cheryl has served as the Aquatics Coordinator for the past ten years. She administers the Learn-To-Swim program while also training the lifeguard staff at the Plourde Recreation Center. Cheryl is a Water Safety Instructor and Lifeguard Instructor, a supervisor at the State pool in Clinton, MA, and works as a full time teacher at North High School in Worcester.
