If you are a Massachusetts resident with a high school GPA of 3.2 or higher who chooses to live on campus, and your 2025-2026 FAFSA confirms you are eligible to receive a Federal Pell Grant, 100% of your Assumption University tuition will be covered with scholarship aid from institutional, federal and state scholarship resources. This means you can focus on your academic and personal growth without the stress of tuition costs. Plus, you will be able to use any eligible loan funds to cover your housing and food costs, further reducing your financial burden.

Who qualifies for the Assumption Access Promise?

The Assumption Access Promise is for any new or transfer full-time undergraduate students accepted to Assumption University for the first time during the 2025 fall semester.  Students must be Massachusetts residents with a high school GPA of 3.2 or higher who choose to live on campus and are Federal Pell Grant eligible* based on their 2025-2026 FAFSA.   

Students who are accepted to Assumption University for the fall 2025 semester but defer to a future semester or deferred from a prior semester are not eligible for the Assumption Access Promise program.

*Federal Pell Grant eligibility will be determined by the Assumption University Office of Financial Aid during the FAFSA review process.

How do I know if I am Pell-eligible?

To determine if you are eligible for a Federal Pell Grant, you must first submit the 2025-2026 FAFSA.  The Assumption University Office of Financial Aid will review the results of your FAFSA and will notify you if you are eligible for a Federal Pell Grant and the Assumption Access Promise program. 

If you are interested in finding out now if you are eligible for the Assumption Access Promise program, you can submit the 2024-2025 FAFSA and complete the AU Early Financial Aid form.  Please note that if you are eligible for the Assumption Access Promise program, you still need to meet all the eligibility requirements including being eligible for a Federal Pell Grant from your 2025-2026 FAFSA.

What does the Assumption Access Promise cover?

For those students who qualify for the Assumption Access Promise, 100% of your Assumption University tuition for the 2025-2026 academic year will be covered with scholarship aid from institutional, federal, and state resources including your Federal Pell Grant and MASSGrant. Students’ housing and meal costs from living on campus can be covered by federal, state, and private loan funds based on student/parent eligibility requirements.  

How do I apply?

There is no separate application. Simply apply for admission to Assumption University and complete your 2025-2026 FAFSA. Make sure to list Assumption’s federal school code: 002118, to ensure we receive your FAFSA results. If you meet the criteria, the Assumption Access Promise will become part of your financial aid offer. 

What if I don’t qualify for the Assumption Access Promise?

If you don’t qualify for the Assumption Access Promise, you may be eligible for other financial assistance. We encourage all students to apply for financial aid by completing the 2025-2026 FAFSA so they can explore the full range of funding options available to them. You can learn more about the wide range of financial aid available to Assumption University students on our Financial Aid webpage

If I qualify for the Assumption Access Promise for the 2025-2026 academic year, will I automatically receive it in future years?

In order to maintain any financial aid funding received from Assumption University, students need to ensure they maintain financial aid satisfactory academic progress.

Additionally, in order to renew need-based funding, including the Assumption Access Promise, students need to file their FAFSA every year and have a qualifying SAI (student aid index).  For the Assumption Access Promise program, you must also maintain eligibility for the program by being a Massachusetts resident, living on campus, and being eligible for a Federal Pell Grant per your annual FAFSA.
