Family Weekend 2023

Assumption University’s Office of Student Engagement and Leadership in conjunction with the Campus Activities Board present Family Weekend 2023!

Our weekend will begin Friday, September 29th and conclude the morning of Sunday, October 1st. Throughout the weekend there will be a variety of activities around campus for the families of Hound Nation.

Schedule

Friday, September 29

3:00 p.m. | Women’s Tennis vs. St. Anslem  

5:00 to 7:30 p.m. | Dinner in Taylor Dining Hall

Enjoy a meal in the dining hall with your student! Meal tickets can be purchased at the door.

6:50 p.m. | Women’s Ice Hockey vs. RIT, Worcester Ice Center — The first game in NCAA program history!

7:00 p.m. | Volleyball vs. Franklin Pierce, Laska Gymnasium  

7:00 p.m. | Family Weekend Bingo, Tsotsis Ballrooms located in the Tsotsis Family Academic Center

Join CAB for a night of a classic game of chance…BINGO! Win great prizes the whole family will enjoy! Only 300 tickets are available. (Sign up through the Family Weekend Eventbrite, to be released in early August)

8:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. | Dessert Food Truck

Enjoy a sweet treat from a food truck in the Chapel Lot before you head home (or to the hotel!)

 
Saturday, September 30

10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. | Check-In in Laska Lobby

At check-in parents and families and pick-up their registration gift and a schedule of events. Additionally, if tickets were purchased for the Saturday Late Night program, they will be picked up at this time. If you are unable to make it to check-in, please contact Cassie Harvey, ch.harvey@assumption.edu to arrange another pickup time.

10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. | Continental Breakfast in Taylor Dining Hall

Enjoy breakfast at the dining hall with your student! Meal tickets can be purchased at the door.  

10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. | Campus Tours

Get to know the Assumption campus through a guided tour provided by the Office of Undergraduate Admissions. Tours will depart from the Admissions House.

10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. | Honors Program Induction Ceremony in La Maison Hall

Join us to celebrate the first-year students who will be inducted into the Honors Program.

11:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. | Brunch in Taylor Dining Hall

Enjoy brunch at the dining hall with your student! Meal tickets can be purchased at the door.   

12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. | Football Game vs. Pace University, Brian Kelly ’83 Stadium

All tickets for the game will be sold at the gate and not in advance of the game. Kickoff at Noon.

12:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. | CAB Fall Fair, Hagan Plaza, (Rain Location Laska Gymnasium)

Enjoy food trucks, games, photo opportunities and various fall activities sponsored by the Campus Activities Board (CAB).  

2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. | Commuter Family Hour

Meet and get to know the student and family population at AU that commutes from around Worcester. This program will be hosted by Commuters Connect and the Dean of Students, Ted Zito.

3:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. | BSU Program

4:00 p.m. | Field Hockey Game vs. Pace University, Brian Kelly ’83 Stadium

Time TBD | Women’s Ice Hockey vs. RIT, Worcester Ice Center

4:00 p.m. to 5:15 p.m. | Music Program in Curtis Performance Hall

Take in the sounds of Assumption as Chorale provides a medley of songs by the direction of Brad Dumont, Director of Choral Activities.

5:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. | Dinner in Taylor Dining Hall

Enjoy a meal at the dining hall with your student! Meal tickets can be purchased at the door.   

8:00 p.m. to 10p.m. | Plourde S’mores on Plourde Lawn

Enjoy a yummy dessert before heading home for the night!

6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. | Murder Mystery Night, Tsotsis Ballrooms located in Tsotsis Family Academic Center

Families can compete in teams to solve a mystery and find out who dunnit! A buffet dinner will be served during the event. Only 275 tickets are available. (Sign up through the Family Weekend Eventbrite, found here)  
Sunday, October 1

10:00 a.m. | Family Weekend Catholic Mass

Celebrate the Mass with other families and members of the Assumption community before heading home.  

11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. | CAB Coffee & Donuts in Chapel Lot
