Assumption Hosts Third Annual “Fast Track to the Pack” Event 

On Thursday, August 15, Assumption University hosted its third annual Fast Track to the Pack event, with 100 students attending and many receiving on the spot acceptances to join Assumption’s class of 2029. Fast Track to the Pack is an annual event that gives rising seniors in high school the opportunity to receive their acceptance from Assumption University early, to help simplify and relieve the stress of the complicated college admissions process.  

“We do this event because we have a deep conviction that how an institution of higher education treats you right now, when you are looking at schools and going through this chaotic and stressful process, is the best indication of how they’re going to treat you when you get onto campus,” said Assumption University President Greg Weiner. “We believe very deeply that our institution exists for the sake of our students.” 

Since 2022, Assumption University’s Office of Admissions has hosted Fast Track to the Pack events in August, inviting high school students who have submitted applications to admissions in advance to attend and receive same-day admission decisions. Students are interviewed by admissions counselors during the day and receive their decisions by the end of the event.  

Fast Track has grown in attendance each year since its inaugural event in 2022, with the number of students rising from 53 in 2022, to 77 in 2023, to this year’s 100 attendees.  

At the event, prospective students met current and future Hounds, learned about Assumption and the opportunities the university offers, and enjoyed a community barbecue dinner. Parents were also invited to learn about the university and attend information sessions relating to financial aid and student success.  

“We are thrilled with the growth of the event. But even more, we are thrilled by the connections that are made at this event. There was such much laughter and excitement, and cheers and tears of joy,” said Bill Boffi, Vice President of Enrollment Management. “Our hope is that every single student had such a great experience that they all choose Assumption and enroll in Fall 2025.”
