Former Assumption Football Player Harris Named an NFL Pro Bowl Starter

Former Assumption Football player Deonte Harris has been named a starter for the 2020 NFL Pro Bowl.  Harris, an undrafted rookie who was signed by the New Orleans Saints after an impressive preseason performance, will serve as the NFC’s return specialist for the Pro Bowl, which will take place Jan. 26 in Orlando.

Harris was an organizational communication major while studying at Assumption.

After the announcement was made on Tuesday evening, ESPN Staff Writer Mike Triplett shared via Twitter, “Saints KR Deonte Harris is just the 6th undrafted rookie selected to Pro Bowl during common draft era since 1967, according to Elias Sports Bureau (Saints K Tom Dempsey also on list). Harris, from D-II Assumption, leads NFC with 9.9 yards per punt.”
