Hound of the Week: Sarah Colston ’19

Congratulations to our Hound of the Week, Sarah Colston ’19! Sarah is a recent 2019 graduate of Assumption from Southington, CT, who now has her degree in Spanish and Secondary Education. Sarah’s passion is teaching, as well as the Spanish language and culture. Assumption provided her with opportunities to practice teaching from day one through classroom demonstrations, and pre-practicum and practicum experiences. “My professors of Spanish have taught me more about the food, language, traditions, and culture of the Spanish world than I ever thought possible. Getting to use all of those tools given to me from my majors have been the best preparation for the real world.” 

Sarah completed her practicum student-teaching experience at Auburn High School and feels that Assumption has set her up for career success. As a recent alumnus, Sarah will miss being on campus close to all of her friends, as well as just a walk away from all of her favorite professors.
