MONEY Recognizes Assumption in the Top Quarter of the Best Colleges in America

Assumption has been ranked in the top 23 percent of MONEY magazine’s Best Colleges for Your Money 2018.  In its newly released list, MONEY cited the institution’s variety of majors and minors; its campus in Rome, Italy; “vibrant” campus culture, and more, for its prominent place on the extensive list.

According to MONEY, because higher education is the “second-largest financial expenditure for many families,” the magazine analyzed “graduation rates, tuition charges, family borrowing, and alumni earnings (plus 22 other data points) to find the country’s top values.” MONEY also drew “on the research and advice of dozens of the nation’s top experts on education quality, financing, and value to develop a uniquely practical analysis of more than 700 of the nation’s best-performing colleges.”

In its MONEY profile, Assumption was hailed for its 35 majors and 47 minors, as well as additional academic opportunities for students, including studying abroad in Rome, and its articulation agreements with academic institutions across the country. These partnerships allow Assumption students to receive undergraduate course credits and/or go on to highly regarded graduate programs in areas such as chiropractic, engineering, law, marine science, and medicine. Money also noted Assumption’s proximity the 11 other colleges and universities in the city of Worcester, at which students can take classes.

MONEY also stated, “Student culture is vibrant back at the campus in Worcester, where 90% of students reside for all four years. Spiritual groups focused on prayer are a staple of student life, as are movie nights and a yearly spring concert.”
