Courtney is a PhD prepared nurse educator with a clinical focus in care of child bearing people, child health, and family support. Courtney is a content expert and has created testing items for both the NCLEX-RN and the Certified Pediatric Nursing Certification (CPN). She is currently an editoral fellow with the American Journal of Maternal Child Nursing, and she is a mentor for the Society of Pediatric Nurses.
Courtney’s research area is JEDI-AB / SOGI issues in health care education, with the goal of developing inclusive paths for gender diverse health care students to successfully transition to healthcare work.

  • Courtney completed her bachelors and master’s in nursing at Simmons University (Boston, MA), and her PhD at the University of Massachusetts, Lowell (Lowell, MA). Courtney is a certified nurse educator (CNE) and certified pediatric nurse.
