Richard Lamoureux joined the Assumptionist Order in 1963 and was ordained a priest in 1971. After graduate work in Rome, Boston, and New York, with a Ph.D. in art history, he taught at Assumption as a tenured professor in the Art & Music Department for many years. He returned to the classroom after six years as Provost of the University. His field of specialty is Italian Renaissance art and thought, with extensive teaching, research and writing on Michelangelo.
