Assumption University Launches New Financial Aid Initiatives

In its ongoing commitment to making higher education accessible for all students, Assumption University is excited to announce two groundbreaking financial aid initiatives: AU Early Financial Aid and the Assumption Access Promise. These programs aim to alleviate the financial stress often associated with college applications and demonstrate the University’s dedication to supporting students from diverse financial backgrounds.

AU Early Financial Aid: Helping Students Secure Aid Sooner

The AU Early Financial Aid initiative allows prospective students and families to get a head start on securing their financial aid, even before the federal FAFSA is released in December. Recognizing the Department of Education’s delay in this year’s FAFSA release, Assumption is offering families the opportunity to submit last year’s FAFSA (2024-2025) and receive early financial aid offers. Assumption will honor this financial aid offer even if the ultimate award based on the 2025-2026 FAFSA differs.

“Financial aid is a critical factor in the college decision process,” said Assumption President Greg Weiner. “At Assumption, we believe how we treat students and families during the application process speaks volumes about how we will support them throughout their journey with us. So we won’t wait for the new FAFSA to become available. With AU Early Financial Aid, we’re giving students the chance to lock in their aid packages sooner, reducing uncertainty and stress.”

Assumption Access Promise: Making an Assumption Education Accessible

Assumption University also recognizes that a Catholic liberal education—one rooted in the pursuit of truth, integrated with professional skills, and delivered in a residential community—should not be a luxury reserved for the financially privileged.

That belief is at the heart of the new Assumption Access Promise: Pell-eligible students from Massachusetts with a high school GPA of 3.2 or higher who choose to live on campus will have 100% of their Assumption University tuition covered with scholarship aid. This will ensure these students can pursue their education without the burden of tuition costs.

“At Assumption, we firmly reject the notion that a Catholic liberal education is a privilege reserved for a select few,” said President Weiner. “We believe that every student—regardless of their financial background—deserves the opportunity to access the kind of education that shapes thinkers, innovators, and leaders. The Assumption Access Promise ensures that students with the talent and desire to succeed at Assumption can focus on their studies and personal growth without the worry of tuition expenses.”

Breaking Down Financial Barriers

These two initiatives are rooted in Assumption University’s commitment to providing students with the tools they need to thrive, both academically and professionally, while reducing financial obstacles. By offering early financial aid decisions through AU Early Financial Aid and ensuring 100% tuition coverage for qualified students through the Assumption Access Promise, Assumption is reaffirming its belief in the transformative power of education and its accessibility to all.

Prospective students are encouraged to apply early to take advantage of these opportunities. Applications for admission are now open, and students can begin submitting the 2024-2025 FAFSA on October 1 to qualify for early aid decisions.
