Hound of the Week: Abby Lopes ’20
Congratulations to our next Hound of the Week, Abby Lopes ’20! A biology major with a minor in chemistry and human services, Abby has noted that getting involved on campus is a great way to meet new people and feel more connected to Assumption. As Head tutor in the Academic Support Center, an event planner for Love Your Melon Campus crew, COMPASS facilitator, and a two-time participant in SEND trips, Abby loves seeing the impact of being involved on campus. Off campus, Abby is also a licensed EMT, and took advantage of Assumption’s study abroad program by studying at Assumption Rome. Abby credits her involvement on campus for helping her find her passions. “Studying abroad during the Rome semester was my first time abroad and I absolutely loved the experience of a new culture and traveling. Participating in SEND trips allowed me to help people in a meaningful way all around the world.” Abby’s involvement at Assumption on and off-campus has given her the opportunity to step outside of her comfort zone and do things she never thought she would such as traveling the world and making an impact.
