Hound of the Week: Jacqueline Harten ’19
Jackie Harten, ’19, Accounting Major, Forensic Accounting & International Business Minor
Jackie is an Accounting major with minors in Forensic Accounting & International Business finishing up her senior year. “As a senior, I look back on my time here & how much Assumption has given me: the best group of friends, a great education with the coolest professors, and the necessary tools that will help me when I one day enter the workforce. Assumption has positively impacted my life because it has opened so many doors over the past 4 years that I honestly don’t think any other college would have been able to.” Peers may know Jackie from her extensive campus involvement: a mentor for Big Brother Big Sister, or her many community service excursions to Florida, Tuscaloosa, Alabama, and Pine Ridge, South Dakota with SEND. Jackie is passionate about giving back and feels that Assumption’s Campus Ministry supplied her with many opportunities to do so. “It’s important to be involved both on and off campus because they both help shape your identity and make you into who you are as a person,” explains Jackie. She is not only involved on campus, but she also has her 3rd Degree Black Belt in Tae Kwon Do. Jackie’s next steps are to pursue her master’s degree here at Assumption.
