Hound of the Week: Katelynn Rosa ’19

Congratulations to our next Hound of the Week, Katelynn Rosa ‘19! Katelynn is an English Mass Communications major and Psychology minor from Prospect, CT. She is involved on campus as President of the Muse Literary Club, and was an intern for the Office of Communications for the spring 2019 semester. Outside of campus, she volunteers for organizations like Naugatuck Teen Theater, a non-profit theater company stationed at St. Michael’s Church in Naugatuck, CT. Katelynn finds that being involved on and off campus is worth doing. “I have a passion for helping others, whether that be children or elderly. I’ve had opportunities where I was able to be there for other people, like working with the elderly at Notre Dame du Lac and Eisenberg Assisted Living Centers in Worcester.” Katelynn also has a passion for writing and was recently published in the Connecticut Bard’s Southwest Poetry Review. “I became a communication major to learn different ways to communicate. I love to write, creatively or otherwise. Putting my thoughts and feelings down on the page for others to see is something I strive to do, but I also wanted to learn how to communicate with individuals one-on-one, which is what my education at Assumption has done.” Katelynn credits Assumption for helping her grow both personally and academically. “I came to this school because I fell in love with the community lifestyle that reminded me of my hometown. It is because of this small-knit community that I was able to become so close with fellow classmates and educators. My time at Assumption has given me different perspectives in a variety of fields, and I believe my education here has helped create the person I am today.”
